Huber-Gygax Research

I am almost finished cleaning up obvious duplicate children and making sure all temple work is done for the entire family with the Huber-Gygax line. It has taken a bunch of time, but I wanted to get it cleaned up in an effort to cut down on duplicate work.

I have found a couple of problems. I don't think the Barbara Laedermann line is correct. After finding the correct marriage date, it all but puts her out of the picture. On the other hand, there is a really good chance that we have the correct Rudolf. With the help of witnesses, I think we have put his line together correctly.

Barbara on the other hand, will be a little bit of a challenge for me. Here is the information I have so far.

Our Barbara Laedermann: (estimated 1737)
Married (Hans) Rudolf Fridli on 17 May 1757 in Bannwil, Aarwangen District, Bern Canton, Switzerland. They are the parents of: Salomon (1757-1758), Anna Maria (1759), Barbara (1762), Salomon (1763), Anna Barbara Friedli (1764-1833), Hans Ulrich (Friedli (1765), Hans Rudolf (1767), Verena Friedli (1769 and Hans Jacob Friedli (1774).

Not Possible Barbara's:
Anna Barbara Laedermann: estimated to be much to old to be my #251 on pedigree (listed above)
Daughter of Rudolf from
Had a child, no husband listed, Elisabeth - born 27 Aug, Chr 8 Sep 1822 in Niederbipp (K6_021)
Witness: Jacob, Elisabeth and Magdalena Laedermann in RuttinGushtister(sp?).
Barbara Laedermann von Schwartzhausern, had a child Jakob born 17 Jan 1822, Chr 27 Jan 1822.

Does Anyone Know These Ladies?

On back of picture:
Anna Brutchi-Muller in her eighties. She lived in Zurich. She had a daughter and 2 sisters.

Digging a little deeper:
Anna Mueller was born about 1883 to Jakob Mueller and Anna Elise Huber. She married Tacko Brutschi and the lived in Zurich, Switzerland. Anna Mueller had one sister Maria (about 1885), and two brothers Jakob (1901) and Karl (1903).

My information has been extracted from letters written to Anna Maria Elizabeth Huber Hafen in America by her sister Elise Huber. Any more information would be greatly appreciated.

Anna Gygax

Anna Gygax was born 17 March 1836 and her heritage is from Schwarzhaeusern, Aarwangen District, Bern Canton, Switzerland. She is the daughter of Samuel Gygax (born 1809) and Anna Zurlinden (1814).

Anna married Andreas Huber 22 Mar 1862 according to the Aarwangen, Bern records. He had a devastating fall and suffered greatly both physically and emotionally. Anna had to split her children up and have them live with her relatives to keep them all fed. Eventually she was able to get Anna Maria Elizabeth Huber, Maria Elise Huber and Anna Elise Huber back with her. The families that had Johann Karl Huber and Amelia Huber would not let her have them back as they were doing well where they were.

A full history is written and available at www.hunthistories.com.

Johann Andreas Huber and Anna Gygax Family Book

Thurgau, Switzerland is awesome. They have what they call a haushaltungs Register, which is a list of everyone in the family and the personal information. If you can tie in to one of these you have found a gold mine.

Children included in this family are:
Anna Maria Elizabeth Huber,
Anna Elise Huber, Maria Elise Huber, (Johann) Karl Huber, and Amelia Huber.

Anna Maria is my great grandmother.
