Copy of a page from the Familiennamenbuch der
Sweitz for Friedli.

Gygax Family Book

The Gygax Family Book, found in the Familiennamenbuch der Schweiz. This page includes: Gyfi - to "H".

Schaad Family Book

Schaler - Schachlter in the Familiennamenbuch der Schweiz. We are usually interested in where the families are located with the appendix "a" which means the family was found in that area before 1800.

Barbara Laedermann

Taken from #2005937 Madiswil, Bern Canton, Switzerland records in the year of 1729, 24 April:
Barbara (Lädermann) (daughter of)
Peter Lädermann and Anna Magli.
Witnesses were: Hans Bofiger, Babi Jaggi, and Margreth Mumenthaler.
We originally had a different birthdate and parents for Barbara. But after finding her marriage date we realized that we had the wrong person.
Although I believe this to be our line. I am still in the process of proving it.

Hermine Schneider-Hunziker

On envelope containing pictures:

Frau Hermine Schneider-Hunziker, Ober Huber F2, St. Zurich Switzerland.

After searching I believe the man to be Rudolf Schneider, her husband.

I have not found a blood tie yet with either of these people. The letter was sent to my Grandmother Eliza Anna Gubler, or her mother Anna Mary Elizabeth Huber Hafen, who is a Gygax descendent. Annie possible knew these people from when she lived in Switzerland and had joined the LDS Church. Frau Schneider was also a member of the church in that area.

Huber-Gygax Research

I am almost finished cleaning up obvious duplicate children and making sure all temple work is done for the entire family with the Huber-Gygax line. It has taken a bunch of time, but I wanted to get it cleaned up in an effort to cut down on duplicate work.

I have found a couple of problems. I don't think the Barbara Laedermann line is correct. After finding the correct marriage date, it all but puts her out of the picture. On the other hand, there is a really good chance that we have the correct Rudolf. With the help of witnesses, I think we have put his line together correctly.

Barbara on the other hand, will be a little bit of a challenge for me. Here is the information I have so far.

Our Barbara Laedermann: (estimated 1737)
Married (Hans) Rudolf Fridli on 17 May 1757 in Bannwil, Aarwangen District, Bern Canton, Switzerland. They are the parents of: Salomon (1757-1758), Anna Maria (1759), Barbara (1762), Salomon (1763), Anna Barbara Friedli (1764-1833), Hans Ulrich (Friedli (1765), Hans Rudolf (1767), Verena Friedli (1769 and Hans Jacob Friedli (1774).

Possible Barbara's:

Not Possible Barbara's:
Anna Barbara Laedermann: estimated to be much to old to be my #251 on pedigree (listed above)
Daughter of Rudolf from
Had a child, no husband listed, Elisabeth - born 27 Aug, Chr 8 Sep 1822 in Niederbipp (K6_021)
Witness: Jacob, Elisabeth and Magdalena Laedermann in RuttinGushtister(sp?).
Barbara Laedermann von Schwartzhausern, had a child Jakob born 17 Jan 1822, Chr 27 Jan 1822.

FYI

There are 196 hits on Gygax at Ancestry.com today. All of them are from British/England Records. None from Switzerland.
